Reflections on a remarkable election
If nothing else, it’s great to see that a major milestone in the USA has been overcome. Presidents are people, not black, not white, just people, just like the rest of us.
A President, no matter what their background; their ethnicity, religious background or their personal philosophy must uphold the Constitution of the United States, and be President to ALL The People. Unlike the current regime has done. This is not a dictatorship. This is not a country of serfs and kings. This is a country of We The People and We The People want change… we want the Constitution upheld.
I pray that President Elect Barack Obama who has publicly stated that he will do that can carry through on his promises and not let We The People down. I also hope he will turn around the many Constitutional freedoms that the Bush administration has trampled on and give them back to The People.
I personally voted Third Party because I could not see either mainstream party coming through for us. Even so, President Elect Barack Obama is our next President and I want to believe that he will do much good and little harm. It’s what we all hope for in a President. And we haven’t gotten our money’s worth in a very long time.
I wish you well President Elect Barack Obama. I hope you have the intestinal fortitude to do what is right by We The People. We have had enough of Corporatism. We need to return to our Constitution. I hope the things you have said were from your heart and that you will take up that important task. I have also heard from many have that the world may look more kindly on the USA because of the outcome of the election. After the debacle of this current administration, it would be welcome.
Even if it wasn’t my choice, it was the majority choice … I hope they were right. I hope that President Elect Barack Obama will come through for us because we really need it badly here in the USA.
I have one more thing to say to our new President Elect:
“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a money aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power should be taken from banks, and restored to the people.”
–Thomas Jefferson
